Reflections on Kösslbach (aka the print challenge)

I took this picture way back in 2012 when I started to shoot film again. The camera was new to me and I had never used the film/developer combination before. I ended up with an overexposed, overdeveloped negative with blocked up highlights I never managed to print. Five years later and with loads more tricks up my sleeve, I attempted to print it again. The final print took some intricate dodging and burning in combination with preflashing and selective bleaching to render just the way I wanted it. My most challenging print so far and I'm very happy with this achievement.

Reflecting on a power plant

Another rather challenging print from an overdeveloped negative, originally taken in 2012. Balancing out the reflection and the top part of the image took some intricate dodging and burning.

What fascinated me about this scene was how the black and white film rendered some of the stones as if they were pieces of elemental silver. Best viewed fullscreen!
